2010 Jim Keppel Memorial Golf Classic
The annual Jim Keppel Memorial Golf Classic to benefit the James F. Keppel Foundation will be held Saturday, July 17, 2010 at the Green Pond Country Club. It will be a scramble format with a shotgun start at 1 PM.
Golfer Registration
The cost is $125 per golfer or $500 for each foursome and includes a Golfers Gift bag, a hot dog and beverage at the turn and a complete hot buffet dinner where we will have additional prizes at auction.
There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place low gross, as well as Closest to the Pin, Putting Competition, Longest Drive and Pot of Gold. In addition, we will award the first "Kep's Cup". This is a competition between Jim's Becahi friends and teammates and his Yale friends and teammates.
We had a lot of fun and raised a lot of money for the Foundation last year, this year it will be bigger than ever.

Honorary Golf Chairmen
Tim Penna
Tim was an offensive and defensive lineman at Branford High School in Branford, CT. Tim also played varsity baseball at Branford. Upon graduation he went to Yale University and was a teammate of Jim's on the varsity football team, which included an Ivy Championship win in 1999. Tim was team captain his senior year, and an honorable mention all-Ivy Defensive tackle.
Penna received his undergraduate degree in political science at Yale and went onto work in management on several national political campaigns, including work for Jeanne Shaheen and John Kerry.
Tim returned to Yale for his MBA, and since business school has worked for the New York office of Bain & Company, a management consulting firm Tim is currently in Bain's private equity practice, and has done advisory work across several sectors.
More recently, Tim is a leading purchaser of mulligans at the Keppel golf tourney.

Ryan Roeder
Ryan was the starting quarterback and co-captain with Jim of the 1998 Bethlehem Catholic Golden Hawks football team his senior year in high school. Upon graduation he went to Albany University where he was a first-team All-Northeast Conference quarterback, Roeder led Albany to the 2002 NEC and ECAC championships. He completed 131 of 213 passes for 1,366 yards and eight touchdowns as a senior.
Roeder also rushed for 259 yards and eight TDs, and recorded the fifth-best mark in school history with 1,625 total yards. He ranks second in total offense (4,039), third in passing yards (3,546) and tied for fourth in passing touchdowns (24) in the school's record books.
Roeder received his undergraduate degree in a dual major of communication and psychology in December 2002. As an undergrad, he served as the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee's vice president, interned at WNYT-TV's sports department, and worked with Project Strive, a summer camp for children.
After graduation he worked as the Assistant Director of Operations at Scout Camp Pro Football Regional Combines in Indianapolis, Ind. Roeder was then selected to direct the Albany wide receivers in the spring of 2006 after coaching the running backs in 2005. He returned to his alma mater after spending the 2004 season as an assistant offensive line coach at Holy Cross.
Ryan Roeder was just named the Tight Ends coach at Princeton University starting in 2010. In 2009 he was the wide receivers coach at Rhode Island and before that he spent the past three seasons as an assistant coach at Temple University where he worked with the wide receivers, tight ends and assisted the offensive line coach.
